NVF President Founder & President Shad Meshad Interviewed on LA Talk Radio
This morning at 10:00am NVF Founder & President Shad Meshad was interviewed on LA Talk Radio, Channel 2, on Chuck Ashman’s Diversity American Style.

The first hour of the 3 hour show featured Shad Meshad and his 45 year history of counseling and advocating for America’s Veterans. As a U.S. Army Medical Service Officer in Vietnam in 1970,Shad Meshad began pioneering treatment techniques for what would later become known as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The founder and co-author of the VA’s Vet Center Program, Meshad founded the National Veterans Foundation in 1985, an organization dedicated to serving veterans in crisis and bettering the lives of all U.S. veterans and their family members. The NVF operates a crisis hotline and live chat on their website for veterans of all wars, in addition to homeless outreach in the Los Angeles area.
The second hour of the show featured Brian Tippens, Chief Diversity Officer at Hewlett Packard, along with Hadiyah-Nicole Green, American medical physicist known for her development of a novel cancer treatment using laser-activated nanoparticles. She is one of 66 black women to earn a Ph.D. in physics in the United States between 1973 and 2012, compared to 22,172 white men. Dr. Green is also the second black woman and the fourth black person ever to earn a doctoral degree in physics from The University of Alabama Birmingham.
The third hour of the show was be an interview with Vijay Amritraj, a former tennis player from India, sports commentator and actor. He was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honor in 1983.
Chuck Ashman is the Chief Marketing Director at the National Veterans Foundation. As CEO of Business Matchmaking, Chuck and his team have been honored by federal and state agencies for their help in launching and growing veteran owned small businesses. Business Matchmaking is now in its tenth year as a public-private non-prot foundation and twice selected as the nation’s leading veteran small business support program. The former TV anchor for KTTV and talk show host at KABC and KFI in Los Angeles and moderator of “The Devil’s Advocate” nationally syndicated personality program, has appeared on Oprah, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Larry King and Sixty Minutes. He currently host a global internet weekly program called “Diversity American Style”. He is the author of several biographies including “Diplomatic Crime”, “The Nazi Hunters” and is past president of worldwide marketing at 20th Century Fox Studios.
Chuck is an Army Veteran and Vice Commander of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States.
