Baumhower’s Victory Grille Celebrates Veterans Day by donating 5% of Veterans Day Proceeds to National Veterans Foundation

Aloha Hospitality, Inc., parent company of Baumhower’s Victory Grille, will again honor our military heroes by donating 5% of their restaurant’s proceeds on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11 to the veteran programs of the National Veterans Foundation.

“I can’t think of a better way to honor our Veterans than to support their readjustment to civilian life,” said Bob Baumhower, self-proclaimed Head Fry Cook. “Every guest who comes into our restaurants on Veterans Day will be part of supporting the great work the National Veterans Foundation does.”

In addition to their Veterans Day support, all of Bob Baumhower’s restaurants, including the fine-dining gem Dauphin’s in downtown Mobile, AL offer a 25% discount to all veterans and active duty military personnel when dining in uniform at any location and 10% off if they are dining out of uniform and present a military ID.

YEARS OF SUPPORT FOR VETERANS IN ALABAMA

Baumhower’s restaurants have partnered with the National Veterans Foundation since 2014 through the “Bob’s Platoon” campaign. Shad Meshad, the President and Founder of the National Veterans Foundation and Bob Baumhower are both sons of Alabama. Shad Meshad was born and raised in Birmingham before going off to Vietnam in 1970 and then dedicating his life to counseling and advocating for veterans. Bob Baumhower played football for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide under Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant where he was an All-American offensive lineman. In the NFL, he was a five-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro for the Miami Dolphins and played in two Super Bowls under Coach Don Shula. The first of Baumhower’s restaurants was opened in 1981 and he has been in the hospitality industry ever since. The restaurant chain was created to share Bob’s passion for food, sports, and hospitality and prides itself on being the first to introduce Buffalo wings to the state of Alabama.

“Baumhower’s and Aloha Hospitality have been an important partner in our work helping veterans for years,” said National Veterans Foundation President & Founder Shad Meshad.  Bob Baumhower really cares about our troops and our vets and he demonstrates that every year with his continued support and fundraising efforts.”
