Robin Schafer

In honor of Mike Lewis, USMC. Born in Jamestown, OH, Mike served in Vietnam, where he was blinded. He went on to college, earning his master’s degree, and worked 30 years for the VA as a National Consultant for Blind Rehabilitation Service. He suffered the effects of Agent Orange for 15 years before his death. Among his medals are the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Combat V, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal and Vietnamese Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and National Defense Ribbon. Awards include Major General Melvin Maas Achievement Award and the Billy Lamar Powell Service Award. He is survived by his wife Patty Lewis and their four children.
