When Johnny and Jane Come Marching Home Project
The Welcome the Johnny and Jane Home Coalition's mission is to depathologize war trauma (stop saying that those troubled by war are therefore mentally ill) and increase the use of non-pathologizing, low-risk ways to help veterans heal emotionally, morally, and spiritually. The full mission statement can be found here.
The Coalition currently includes, among others, the Military Officers Association of America, the National Veterans Foundation, the Women in Military Service to America Memorial Foundation, International Society for Ethical Psychology and Psychiatry, Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Soldier's Heart.
The Pathway Home
The Pathway Home Program is a nonprofit, non-governmental Residential Recovery program specifically created for, and dedicated to serve, our Nation’s “New Warriors”—those of any age, who have served our Nation’s Global War on Terror in areas of the world such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Our New Warriors have survived the stressors of war, but may find themselves experiencing problems that are getting in the way of their post-deployment functioning.
The Pathway Program can help to address those problems and maximize each Warrior’s mental and physical heath, coping, resiliency, and overall functioning—whether that is post-deployment, re-deployment, or civilian status. The Pathway Home is a true community where we band together to embrace and assist our Nation's heroes by providing the respect, guidance, and support that each Warrior needs to rebound from combat or other challenging military experiences.
A Year Without War
A Year Without War’s mission is to bring about a one year, global ceasefire in 2020. A Year Without War is not a program to untangle the complex military-industrial complex as it now exists globally. Through our present, evolving global technology, 2020 A Year Without War is focusing the aspirations of a new, tech-savvy, cosmopolitan generation, the millennials, around the world on a unique historical opportunity to tip history by creating the world’s first and largest global community to end war for one year. 2020 A Year Without War would like to specifically support the dedicated military personnel around the world with a well-deserved year off.
