NVF and CELEBRITY READS Present LETTERS from WAR VETERANS

Dan LauriaNVF Honorary Board Member and Marine veteran Dan Lauria is putting together a series of  letters written by vets and read by actors. The planned debut for Letters from War Veterans is Veterans Day, November 11th.

The letters span from WWII to the present and will include a letter Shad wrote from Vietnam and a letter written in the aftermath of WWII by the father of Director of Communications Cathie Sandstrom Smith. Well known as an actor, Lauria, a Vietnam veteran, is a long-time supporter of the NVF.

Shad Meshad

As a U.S. Army Medical Service Officer in Vietnam in 1970, Shad Meshad began pioneering treatment techniques for what would later become known as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He is the founder of the National Veterans Foundation and founder and co-author of the VA’s Vet Center Program.
