Giving to the National Veterans Foundation – You CAN make a Difference

You can volunteer your time, donate goods, or give money to support the causes you believe in. All three ways of giving can be equally effective, but when it comes to our nation’s veterans, it’s quite often a financial gift that does the most good.

That’s because the kind of help our veterans need is woefully underfunded. There are trained staff, experts and professionals working to give our vets the help they need, but the missing piece is the funding.

Today’s veterans often need help from highly skilled and dedicated professionals in areas such as:

  • PTSD counseling
  • Suicide intervention
  • General counseling
  • Support for families
  • Public awareness programs
  • Medical treatment
  • VA benefits advocacy
  • Employment & training
  • Legal aid

While we recognize the value of outreach programs that offer food, clothing, and shelter to our vets, we also know that many of the vets who need help aren’t destitute or helpless. They’re back home, working or looking for work, seeking an education, raising families, and grappling with the myriad of issues they face while making the transition back into civilian life.

Vets Need Someone Who’s Been There

Our Lifeline for Vets helps provide solutions to all those areas of need, and more. What’s more, it’s run by veterans… it’s not outsourced to nameless, faceless individuals who have no prior connection to the military and to vets.

Vet-to-Vet works, but it can’t exist without funding. That’s where your help makes all the difference in the world. The National Veteran’s Foundation serves Vets by offering them a crisis management helpline, information, and referrals for the issues they face. It’s the nation’s only toll-free vet-to-vet helpline, and it’s essential, especially for the vets who live in areas where there are not veteran community centers.

Our High Ratings Mean Your Donation Dollars Are Well Spent

One last thing: we’re proud to say that the National Veteran’s Foundation is among those recommended by Charity Navigator as not overspending on overhead, and for making sure donations go to actual programs for Vets. If you’re ready to help our returning troops with your donations, here’s a good place to start.
