Continuing Education Training for Lifeline for Vets Counselors

We are grateful to Melinda Wallingford for continuing education training she provided to our counselors this month.  Melinda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her training included evidence-based approaches including solution-focused and motivational interviewing skills.

Melinda Wallingford Continuing Education Training

We appreciate Melinda volunteering her expertise as a licensed therapist and coach. She provided pro bono, professional continuing education training to our program staff.  Because effective listening skills are critical for our Lifeline counselors. These counselors help Veterans and their families every day.

Significantly, Melinda has been a clinical volunteer for the Lifeline for five years. Her dedicating an afternoon to provide this training was above and beyond the call of duty.

Due to the continued support of committed individuals like Melinda, who show dedication to the NVF’s mission through tangible support for our work, can we continue serving over 10,000 Veterans and family members each year.

20 Years of Clinical Experience

Melinda Wallingford, LCSW has over twenty years working with individuals and families. Before her social work and clinical experience, she worked as a teacher for adolescents.

In addition, throughout her career, she has focused on family issues. This includes blended family concerns, parenting, adolescent struggles, and as areas of abuse and violence. She has specialized training in mediation and coaching.

Most of all, Melinda holds that finding their own solutions empowers families and individuals. Also agreements that arise from separation and divorce are best formulated with a coach that has the well-being of the family as the foremost priority and that can be available throughout as they complete a divorce.
