FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Baumhower’s Has “Got Your Six” for Veterans Day

Los Angeles, CA – November 7, 2016 – Aloha Hospitality, Inc., parent company of Baumhower’s and Bob’s Victory Grille restaurants, announces to veteran’s “We Got Your Six” with a special 6-item menu for $6 Menu just for our men and women who have served in the U.S. Military this Veterans Day, Friday, November 11.

“In the military, ‘Got your six’ means ‘I’ve got your back,’ and we’re excited to let veterans know we’ve got them covered, at least their appetites, this Veterans Day,” said Head Fry Cook Bob Baumhower.  “We’ve been supporting the National Veterans Foundation for years, and this year we wanted to add something special for our Veterans in Alabama, with six of our most popular entrees at a huge discount, in honor of their service.”

In addition, the company, as it has done for the last two years, will donate 5 percent of all food and beverage sales on Veterans Day to the National Veterans Foundation, in support of the Lifeline for Vets Veterans suicide prevention efforts, helping veterans readjust to civilian life after leaving the military.

Baumhower’s Restaurants and Bob’s Victory Grille locations in Huntsville, Birmingham, Hoover, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Auburn and Daphne will be participating in the “We Got Your 6” Veterans menu, available on Veterans Day (Friday, November 11, 2016) to any Veteran or active duty military person with a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, Discharge Papers and Veterans Separation Documents (DD-214), Citation, Commendation or military ID.

Baumhower’s and Bob’s Victory Grille Restaurants have partnered with the National Veterans Foundation since 2014 through the “Bob’s Platoon” campaign. Shad Meshad, the President and Founder of the National Veterans Foundation and Bob Baumhower are both sons of Alabama. Shad Meshad was born and raised in Birmingham before going off to Vietnam in 1970 and then dedicating his life counseling and advocating for veterans. Bob Baumhower, a lifelong Alabama native, played football for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide under Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant where he was an All-American offensive lineman. In the NFL, he was a six time All-Pro for the Miami Dolphins. The first Baumhower’s Restaurant was opened in 1981. The restaurant chain was created to share Bob’s foodie passion and bring chicken wings to Alabama.

“Bob was a leader on the football field,” said Meshad, “he’s a leader in Alabama business and he’s a leader in supporting our Veterans. “His support through his restaurants’ “Bobs Platoon” campaign has helped a lot of Veterans who reach out through our vet-to-vet hotline, the Lifeline for Vets.  The ‘We Got Your 6” Veteran menu is more evidence that Bob is a business leader who doesn’t just talk about supporting veterans.  He does something about it.”

Since 1985, the National Veterans Foundation has helped over 400,000 veterans and their families with crisis and information services through the nation’s first toll-free, vet-to-vet hotline for all U.S. veterans and their families. NVF’s veteran counselors provide veterans and their families with information, counseling and service referrals for issues around suicide, VA benefits, mental health counseling, housing, medical services, education benefits, financial issues and more.
